It all started when…

Grace Bates was born in Northern New Jersey, & raised in Nashville, TN. She was born with the love of song, and quickly upgraded her audience of stuffed animals to that of the Ryman Auditorium. She was the lead singer in a band called Flashback from 5th to 8th grade, performing all over Nashville as the face of a nonprofit organization called Little Kids Rock. With Grace singing classic rock covers and a couple originals, they performed at The Ryman Auditorium, Wildhorse Saloon, B.B. Kings, and other esteemed venues in the city. This solidified her passion at a young age to be a professional musician.

Grace continued her music exploration at Nashville School of the Arts, and solidified an acoustic act shortly after high school. Transforming her act to full band in 2017, Gracie & The Valley has created a truly special and signature sound. Their songs are as eclectic as the local thrift stores while still dancing in a cohesive sweet spot, leaving no song sounding the same but all songs belonging together. The lyrics vulnerably and relentlessly delve into the fatigue of 9 to 5's, the turmoils of the heart, and self discovery. Pairing their unique twist on indie folk-pop music with the lyrical depth of Grace Bates, their music will move your heart as well as your feet.
